how to factory default management ip and password in hpe alletra 6030

Hello everyone,

We have one Hpe Alettra 6030 in hand,

Previously used as a demo device on another customer

We are planning to install this device as a demo device for another customer.

Unfortunately, we cannot access the device's management interface. The device has a password and is unknown.

We want to reset the management ip and user information, how can we do this.

HPE Alletra 6000 does not include a 'factory reset' or 'reset to default' option as a standard or HPE recommended method.
Please try to connect the HPE Alletra 6000 using the default superuser ("admin" is the default superuser).
If that is not working, it is recommended to reach out to HPE Tech support or reach out to Nimble support for further assistance.

Almost: A 6K is a Nimble Storage Gen6, not a descendant of 3PAR and Primera.

That being said, contact Nimble Support.
If you know the management IP, they can use an SSH session. Otherwise you will need a serial connection.
Once connected, Support can get the key information and log in with a time-based password.

@Sheldon Smith  @Satish04  I tried "admin" as user and password but it didn't work. I tried both modes (Maintenance boot and Standard mode) I even tried "3paradm" and it didn't work.

When I type root, there is an image like in the picture, but I could not find what to enter as the password.

I guess I have no choice but to call hp support.

i have the Problem. Trying via serial connection the default "admin,admin" but i got "Login incorrect".

Tried it several times with both controllers.

I also have the problem that the discovery tool can not find the array.

Password reset on Alletra is a support assisted procedure, it needs root access.

Please create a support ticket.
