mscs cluster vmware guest iscsi jumbo frames

I am using iscsi connections directly from my vmguest (2012R2) to the nimble appliance data ports.

my questio nis the Vmnics currently vms run on are only using1500 mtu. On the windows os, its not configured for jumbo mtu.

question is do I need to enable jumbo frames on the vmnics and the guest os?

Re: mscs cluster vmware guest iscsi jumbo frames

Jumbo Frames need to be enabled from end to end, when using vSphere, for example:  On the Nimble data interfaces, on the physical switch, on the Host's storage vSwitch(es), and on the associated VMkernel adapters.  If you're doing in-guest connections then you'll also need to enable Jumbo Frames on within the guest nic settings.

If you don't have JF enabled throughout the storage network, stick with the standard 1500 MTU.
