Hi
There is an option to use HPE M Series (mellanox) network switches with Nimble dHCI solutions. The HPE Nimble dHCI and VMware deployment guide (available on InfoSight) shows the step by step procedure for configuring these M series switches and includes the proecdure for configuring an 'IPL' (Inter-Peer Link) MLAG. As well as heartbeat traffic between the master and standy switches, does the IPL also link permit VLANS to pass over it automatically or, if not, should a further ISL be configured between the switches for the VLANs? I would have thought that if an an additional ISL was needed\recommended (in addition to the IPL) it would have been included within the guide.
many thanks in advance.

Re: Nimble dHCI network switch
Hi CadenLange
On the HPE M-Series switches, the Inter-Peer Link is a special type of ISL that links two peer switches together and allows the switch pair to be viewed as one logical switch. By definition this link is a trunk port type, and hence is automatically a member of all current VLANs. So no additional ISLs are needed.

Re: Nimble dHCI network switch
Thanks Mike
Does it need any additional licensing - or do all the reuired license come bundled on the switch? I think I read it needs a specfic licnese but could see if that comes with the switch by default.
thanks
