Nimble CS300 tg1 and tg2 disappeared

Last week I got a message that controller B became active because of loss of network connectivity on controller A. In the hardware tab on the GUI tg1 and tg2 were missing on controller A. I remove controller A and reseat the nic card and reinserted the controller. No dice, tg1 and tg2 were still missing. I decided to reboot the entire array at which controller B lost tg1 and tg2 as well. I reconfigured eth2 as data and was able to bring up the datastore but I am lost on how to get the controllers to recognize the nic in slot 1 and bring tg1 and tg2 back.

Hello John,

From your findings I think the PCI Slot or the iSCSI/FC card might have gone faulty.
That is the reason node failover happened.
Still you can cross check the settings under Administration > Network > Interfaces
Make sure the ports are in online state and interfaces assgned to data subnet.

Below is the admin guide which will help you as well.

Re: Nimble CS300 tg1 and tg2 disappeared

I swapped out the nic and also the controller with no luck. Controller B is good and Controller A is still missing tg1 and tg2.
I noticed that during the boot cycle the system when it is bringing up interfaces, tg1 and tg2 are not listed

Hey @John Welsh_4 ,  it's possible that there is a configuration or firmware issue with the controller or NIC.

You can try the below stuff and see if that helps:

*  Make sure firmware versions on both controllers are up to date. If not, update them to the latest version.

* Check the network configuration settings for both controllers to ensure that they are configured correctly. Make sure that the correct network interfaces are configured for tg1 and tg2, and that the correct VLAN and subnet settings are configured.

* You can try resetting the network configuration on the affected controller to its default settings and reconfiguring it from scratch.

It could be possible hardware issue with the controller or NIC that is causing the problem. Try contact Nimble support for further assistance.

These are my opinions so use it at your own risk.
