Nimble dHCI questions

Hi

I have a couple of questions on Nimble dHIC capability - this is for a Greenfield install running the latest Nimble OS and ESXi versions:

Can Nimble dHCI be configured into multiple VMware clusters (same vCenter and Datacenter) or must all the dHCI stack nodes be in a single cluster only?

Does Nimble dHCI support\recommend distributed swtiches for the iSCSI connectivity? If I select the 'distributed switch' option during the 'Stack-Setup' deployment will this create Distributed Switches for the iSCSI connections or will these remain as Standard Switches and only the Management vSwitch be Distributed?

On the Nimble, under the 'Alarms' section - if I delete an existing Alarm am I just deleting that single instance of the reported alarm or am I deleting the 'alarm definition' and thus preventing any future alarms of that same error being generated?

many thanks

Yes.

  1. The array must be running HPE Alletra OS 6.1.1.100 or later.
  2. The array must be registered with the HPE GreenLake platform with Data Services Cloud Console (DSCC), and the HPE GreenLake for HCI Management Console.
The HCI Management Console is required to make the additional clusters.

  • HPE dHCI supports distributed vSwitches with HPE Alletra OS 6.0.0.300 or later. If distributed vSwitch is selected, the management and both iSCSI vSwitches are created as standard, then converted to distributed.

On the Nimble, under the 'Alarms' section - if I delete an existing Alarm am I just deleting that single instance of the reported alarm or am I deleting the 'alarm definition' and thus preventing any future alarms of that same error being generated?

  • It should just delete that instance of the alarm. Check with Nimble Support.

Re: Nimble dHCI questions

@Sheldon Smith IтАЩm deploying 2 clusters in one dhci.
So should I deploy the solution with one cluster only and add the second cluster after that?
Tks
