Hi All
I'm very much a Nimble newbie here so apologies if I'm asking stupid questions
I've been happily creating new volumes from the vCenter plugin and everything is great with the world. I've now been asked to setup some volumes that will connect straight into some Linux environments and so, I'll be creating the volumes from the Nimble console instead.
My first question is what the best performance policy to use for this would be? There's an option for "Windows File Server" but nothing obvious for the Linux equivilent? The usage is going to be for fairly general file storage, home areas, some backups, that type of thing.
My second question on this is a wider one - I've been Googling away with the hope of getting a simple comparison table of all the built-in performance policies with details of the different settings per policy. I thought this would be simple but I can't find anything online anywhere to give me this simple information. Can anyone point my in the right direction please?
Thanks!

SolutionHi,
A performance policy defines the block size, the data reduction strategy, and other characteristics for a storage volume. The NimbleOS operating system that runs on HPE Nimble Storage arrays comes with predefined performance policies for many applications. However, if you don't find one in the predefined list, you always have the option to create one.
To create a performance policy, navigate to Manage > Performance Policies in the NimbleOS GUI and click Add. In the Create Performance Policy dialog box, choose a name, the application category, and other settings for the performance policy. HPE recommends enabling compression and caching for the performance policy on all-flash arrays and adaptive-flash arrays.

Re: Nimble Newbie Volume Creation Questions!
Thanks - also, I'm very impressed at the level of service from HPE on this - my post prompted a ticket to be opened and a reply back from an expert. Yes, the advice given both here in this forum and the email reply back have helped me answer both questions!
