Nimble Storage Monitoring on SCOM
Just wondering if anyone has any success in deploying HP OneView to a SCOM 2019 environment to monitor multiple Nimble HF40 Arrays. We've deployed the OneView Plugin as per the deployment guides but the Diagram View on HPE Stoage view in SCOM Operations Centre only shows us one single array but also doesn't show any Alerts or logs on that array or on the Dashboards. SNMP is configured correctly on all the arrays, as we indicated, we seem to be able to add the Arrays but Diagram View just shows one single Array. Just wondering if we're missing anything regardling Licenses or the need to deploy a OneView Appliance (which we haven't).

Re: Nimble Storage Monitoring on SCOM
Hi Declan Bennett
Microsoft has a rule for Management Packs, which is that installation of the management pack cannot Automatically set up polling and discovery, which should always be done by the user of the management pack explicitly. As such the first task you will want to complete is to enable Discovery to accomplish this, you will want to select the Authoring Tab inside of the Operations Manager Console, and then select Overrides. Look from the right window, select 'Look for', and use the word "nimble". This will limit the items to search to only those that are valid. Of the rules shown, you will want to enable the following Rules (set to true), and set the interval value to something valid for your requirements;
HPE Nimble Storage Discovery Rule: intervalseconds
HPE Nimble Storage Discovery Rule: Enabled
HPE Nimble Storage SNMP Trap Catcher Rule: EnabledNow that the array is being discovered, you should find that under the Monitoring Tab, you now have an HPE Storage Folder, as well as an HPE Nimble Storage subfolder. Alerts and Events will show up in their respective windows.
As such the first task you will want to complete is to enable Discovery.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh.
