Re: NimbleOS 5 Release Notes

The links are pointing to nimblestorage.com, so some of them does not work anymore, due to the redirection.

Re: NimbleOS 5 Release Notes

The list is missing the newest release.   My Nimble is showing 5.0.10.0-742719 as the next avaialable version but its not listed.

EDIT: I found the link through InfoSight.

Re: NimbleOS 5 Release Notes

Hello,

Currently, I cannot read the latest release notes (like 5.1.4.200) as some Infosight proxies return a HTTP 502 Bad Gateway error...

https://infosight.hpe.com/InfoSight/media/cms/active/public/pubs_NimbleOS%20Release%20Notes_5.1.4.200.pdf

Same issue when we try to access the "software downloads" page.

Edit: fixed

Re: NimbleOS 5 Release Notes

No worries. Please note that links can change, especially after maintenace occurs in between you last check. You can always get the lastest link by going straight to the documentation page (or download pdf).

Re: NimbleOS 5 Release Notes

Hi there, I was looking for a bit of advice.

I'm a in a bit of a catch 22 situation at the moment regarding our Citrix Hypervisor environment and HP NImble storage configuration.

At present we're only running Citrix Hypervisor 8.0 which is out of support and has known issues however we're unable to upgrade it as none of the current HP Nimble firmware revisions are compatible with the latest supported Citrix Hypervisor version 8.2, according to their compatibility matrix.

From a previous call with Citrix they did say that 8.2 would be compatible with Nimble 5.3 however as this revision isn't yet GA we are exremely hesitant to upgrade to this, especially as it would be going to a live environment.

Is it possible to get an idea as to when NimbleOS 5.3 is likely to become GA please?

Many thanks

Andy

Re: NimbleOS 5 Release Notes

GA? When it's ready.
(I hear rumors of 'soon', but they won't put a date on it.)

FIrst of all, Initial Production Release (IPR) and GA Candidate (GAC) indicate the software release is ready for production use. (Note the word Production in "Initial Production Release". <grin> )

(I'm currently working with a large customer setting up an initial dozen Nimble dHCI systems, some production, some not, all running NimbleOS 5.3.1.)

Software is designated General Availability (GA) when it's ready for mission-critical use. The release is designated as GA after it has demonstrated a high level of stability across a large number of production systems. We look for stats such as:
• > 100 years of accumulated field runtime
• No P1 or P2 bugs
• Solid adoption across all generations of Nimble platform
• Key feature adoption (such as Peer Persistence, or Multi-Protocol)
Once GA, the software release is made available to all remaining customers and/or systems to which the software release is relevant.

Specific customers or systems may be excluded due to known system-specific issues.

Re: NimbleOS 5 Release Notes

Hi Sheldon Smith,

My client want to migration Volume from existing CS1000 to HF40 by Volume Move.

We need to align firmware version before add CS1000 into HF40 Array Group.

Array Model: CS1000

Existing Version: 5.1.4.200

Array Model: HF40

Existing Version: 5.2.1.400

As discussed with Support about firmware version.

From HPE Nimble Support:

  1. Recommended update to 5.2.1.800,  that is expected to be released during the first half of August.
  2. Blocked 5.2.1.400 due to known issue which can impact the Data Service.
  3. Blocked 5.2.1.700 could cause an expected DSD restarts on this platform.

Please advice. Thanks.
