2530 and 2920 - EEE on SFP ports?
Hi I'm trying to configured Energy-Efficient-Ethernet on the SFP ports on these switches however I get the message "EEE is not supported on port xx on this hardware revision". We have the latest firmware installed (#YA.15.16.0008 on the 2530's). We connect all of our switches together using the SFP ports so not having EEE available on these ports means we can't make use of this feature! Is there a firmware release coming that will fix this? Or some other way around this? Seems madness not having the feature available on the ports most likley to be used to interconnect switches as the feature only works on links interconnecting switches. Many Thanks!

What kind of transceivers do you use in those SFP ports?

Re: 2530 and 2920 - EEE on SFP ports?
EEE is designed for edge ports, not interswitch links. The idea behind EEE is to shutdown the transmitter during idle times. That is not something you want happening between switches. With EEE, the edge device, such as a PC, will request EEE from the switch, and the switch will enable it. The switch doesn't initiate enabling EEE.
