colorado 8gb hangs during backup

During an automated backup, the tape drive is hung up when i return in the morning. It is usually backing up a file on the server(winnt). When i try to abort the backup, my system hangs(win98). If I do control-alt-del, I get the following error message: An Exception oe has occurred at 0028:c15d0154 in vxd---. This was called from 0028:c00867e0 in vxd vkd(01) + 000001d0. It may be possible to continue normally. I then have restart ny machine. Any help?
