HP Storageworks 1/8 autoloader and Backup Exec 8.6.
Hi,
I recently bought an HP Storageworks 1/8 autoloader and am using Backup Exec 8.6. Unfortunately I can't get any backups done as all the blank tapes I import into BE are showing as "cleaning media" (even though they aren't!) so I can't do anything with them.
Has anyone got any ideas for me to try and resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance!
Wanda

Hi Wanda
Ensure the Bacup Exec drivers are on the drive, download the latest version of L&TT and flash the firmware. This should resolve the issue for you.

Dave

Re: HP Storageworks 1/8 autoloader and Backup Exec 8.6.
If you have one of the newer Ultrium 960, 448, or 232 autoloaders, then for Symantec/Veritas Backup Exec (BUE), the minimum version that supports them is 10.0 Build 5520.
With BUE, you also need a driver bundle. The version that first supports the 1/8 232/448/960 is release 46.
See: http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/277477.htm
If you have a different drive type in your 1/8, then they were supported on earlier versions of BUE.

The journey IS the reward.
