Re: HP surestore autoloader 1/9
Here is a document which outlines how to install the autoloader:
http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport/get_doc.pl?SNI=hpsurestor21927&LC=information_storage&Tfile=lpg70537
Also, although the version (8.3) is different in this document than what you're using, the following document regarding Veritas Backupexec may offer you some suggestions as well:
http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport/get_doc.pl?SNI=hpsurestor21927&LC=information_storage&Tfile=lpg70479
Finally, here is the download page for the Autoloader 1/9; perhaps you'll find what you're looking for:
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/hpsurestor21927_swen.html
I hope this helps!

Re: HP surestore autoloader 1/9
Sounds strange, but it is correct.
I bought one this thursday, and I attended work on friday 3 am. Yup... I was quite eager to install it.
There was no driver shipped with the drive. Ok, no problem... I would just search for one on the Net. Shure, HP would of course have one on their site!
But no. I called HP support at 8:00 am. (waited 35 min. to get through) and was told, that you have to use one that is provided with your backup software!
I reinstalled my backupexec, and the driver automatically got installed along with it.
This way, you should be able to fully control the drive.
I was told, that you could install the driver for Ultrium (if it is LTO like mine)
Hope this helps.
