Email log file maintenance
We would like to limit the number of days our email log files are retained.
In the Exchange System Manager ->
Server properties -> logfile maintenance; Message tracking is enabled. I checked Remove log files and set Remove files older than to 3 days from the default 7 days.
However the logs are not being limited to 3 days. I did not restart the Server after changing the number of days. Do I need to do that for the parameter to be enforced ? Or is there something else I need to do.

Re: Email log file maintenance
If the log files are being removed at 4 days, then the problem is related to the fact that the removal service doesn't use the current date when setting the option. If you need to have only 3 days, set the option to 2 days.

Re: Email log file maintenance
Thank you for the responses. I will set the retention to 2 days and will restart the server end of shift. Will give a feedback Monday.
