hp media centers

Does anyone know where I can find an "hp media center pc 873n" audio driver. I just know it's an ac 97. Thanks

Try the alc650 driver on this page first it's for six channel, if no go try the alc250 2 channel driver,..I beleive your's has the 6 channel setup though. Use the driver listed for windows XP Good luck......

The 650 didn't work and I couldn't download the 250. When I talked to a service rep. for hp, he told me it had to be a media center audio driver. Unfortunately I don't know anyone else with the re-installation cd. Are there any more you can think of?

I've never heard of such a thing.? What happened when you tried the alc650 driver.?

These are listed for multi media PC's, try the alc655 and alc658 drivers also.!

do i download the spec or the reference design because there is no software download? And when I tried the alc650, I installed it, restarted my computer and nothing changed. Am I doing something wrong?

RL It just dawned on me that you have Windows XP and you should be able to use system restore to go back in time to before the problem started and retore everything back to when it was working. Have you tried this yet.?

my computer was wiped clean, so there was probably no chance of anything staying on it. But I don't know how to do it to try?

haha, i'm not that stupid. i really don't have the audio driver. thanks for the try though, sometimes it is as simple as that.

i found the driver. I used Everest home edition to figure out which one i needed. And I got the site to download it from Win Drivers.com forums. So if someone doesnt know on this site. Check out WinDrivers and hopefully they'll know. Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it.
