Openmail - Images embedded in emails when using html format

Were running Outlook 98 with an HP Openmail back end server, if we send a message as rich text format with a picture embedded it
appears in the message, if we send a message as html format the picture appears as an attachment.

Is this an Outlook or Openmail feature, and how can we get Outlook to display images embedded in the email when using html format?

All help gratefully appreciated...

Not sure why this has been moved to the Microsoft forum, as I believe its an Openmail problem. Weve got the same version of Outlook with an exchange back end and it works fine.

Could it be a MAPI problem? Were currently running v5.5.2174 of MAPI and MAPI32.dll

Richard,

I believe this is a feature of the MAPI drivers, in that embedded images are not supported in html. One of the "solutions" I think was to use a remote url for the image (hmm!).
I think this is still the case, even with the current MAPI drivers for Samsung Contact (who bought and continue to develop Openmail code).
