Re: Sound Drivers for a HP Pavilion 752n with Win XP Pro
A Freeware like "Belarc Advisor" or "Aida32.exe could help you identify your audio device precisely.
Once done, go to the manufactures's support-link or try a driver-provider such as "All Drivers".

Re: Sound Drivers for a HP Pavilion 752n with Win XP Pro
Also; Is it possible to order a recovery disk for the 752n? I know it doesn't come with one because of the recovery drive (which I so ingeniously killed), but it would be a much better alternative than having to hunt for the drivers everytime like this.
Thanks,
Joseph

Re: Sound Drivers for a HP Pavilion 752n with Win XP Pro
I think you'd get better recovery chances with Win XP Pro (full retail section). Boot of XP install CD; then run FORMAT C: and finally reinstall this OS from sratch. It should plug-&-play essential devices composing your computer. Understand that the Video device is a "chipset-integrated" model (ATI? Aida32 should identify it more precisely than Belarc does). If not in XP cabs, the Video driver is probably on the restore CD shipped with the computer. Run that CD after XP was reinstalled if the problem persists.

Re: Sound Drivers for a HP Pavilion 752n with Win XP Pro
However, I am still attempting to try and restore this computer back to XP Home (which comes with the computer, but of course there is no disc in the unforseen circumstance someone deletes the recovery drive). Any suggestions on how to do this? (I am right now running my personal copy of XP Pro on it, for testing purposes. I need to know how to put their previously purchased copy of XP Home back on for legal issues)
