I like to know what the differences are between this sorts of memory:
- PC2-5300 2Rx8 2GB
- PC2-5300 1Rx8 2GB
- PC2-5300 2Rx4 4GB
What does this "2Rx8", "1Rx8" and "2Rx4" mean? Can I mix them in one server?
Thanks

Re: BL460C Memory
The "1R" or "2R" refers to the rank of the DIMM. Single-rank or dual-rank.
The "x4" or "x8" refers to the number of bits each chip on the DIMM provides.
This guide might explain it better, starting on page 8:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00256987/c00256987.pdf
You can use more than one type within a server, but they should always be installed in pairs of identical DIMMs.
good luck, points are appreciated if the answers help

Re: BL460C Memory
So, this pairs of 2 identical, does it matter in which banks they are? Must they be next to each other for example?
