BL490c G6 Firmware for P700m SAS Controller

Hi,
I'm having trouble upgrading the firmware in my blade servers in the c3000 enclosure. My Servers are running VMware ESXi. i have tried booting from the firmware maintenance CD 8.7 and this boots fine but doesn't include the latest firmware version then when adding a USB stick with the firmware on and clicking the add button it doesn't find the firmware. I have tried creating a bootable USB stick using the HP USB Key Utility but this would not boot using the KVM adapter cable connected to the front of the blade.

How do i upgrade the firmware for this controller?
