Brocade 4/12 SAN switch java error

This weekend, the Management Console for the Brocade 4/12 SAN switches in our C7000 blade servers started throwing an error when trying to log in to the "switch explorer" (screenshot attached). The load progress bar then stops @ 19%

When I start the management console (switch explorer) through IE, it downloads the java app from the blade, and I noticed that the 'publisher' field says "6.1.0".

I've tried using different versions of IE and different versions of Java, and they all give me the same error.

Any ideas?

Re: Brocade 4/12 SAN switch java error

Make sure to use the correct user/pass combination, clear the IE and (!) java cache.

Hope this helps!

Re: Brocade 4/12 SAN switch java error

I'd already tried clearing the cache, and I tried it from several systems on which I'd never connected to the blade server before.

In the past, when I entered the wrong user/pass combo, I would just get an error saying so, and then it would fall back to the password dialog.

Sure there is no proxy (cache) between your PCs and the switch?

Hope this helps!

Re: Brocade 4/12 SAN switch java error

No proxies that I know of. I even tried putting the IP of the switch in "no proxy for" section in IE.

This is one of those vexing "It worked yesterday and now it doesn't" issues....

Re: Brocade 4/12 SAN switch java error

Any known changes that you are aware of? I know, this is hard to answer ...

First I would try to connect via telnet to check if the username works.

Hope this helps!

Re: Brocade 4/12 SAN switch java error

I'm able to get in via SSH.

The only change was adding a Flex 10 module to one of the other blade chassis', but I already removed it to no avail.

So, I went out on a limb, and removed the proxy info in my web browser, and now it works.

Re: Brocade 4/12 SAN switch java error

Hi ,

I have a query, context really wrong.

i work at HP, India. We work on the P&G network through Junos Pulse. We have a Unix server which is there on the P&G network. it is named bdhp. How can it be named bdhp if it is on P&G network? should it not be bdpgXXXX?

I think from an HP network, even naming anything HP might be wrong.

In acceptable terms, if you renamed the server wrongly, it should cost millions, right?

Maybe not an answer to the above query, but we also use Java. Right now we are using Java 1.8

Any clues or does this give any clues?

Thanks
