C3000 + SAS switch + MDS600 question on connectivity

Joe had a Serial Attached Storage (SAS) question:

Customer wants to connect BL460’s to 2 SAS switches to 2 MDS600’s and 1 tape library

P700 in mezz slot 2, SAS switches in Interconnect Bay 3&4

Question: Can I connect 1-4 ports on each sas switch to MDS and can I connect port 8 to the tape?

Quick important detail on the SAS switches, in a C7000 ports 1-4 will only connect to blades 1-8, ports 5-8 will only connect to blades 9-16.

I don’t know if the C3000 has the same limitations.  Check page 39. But it looks like only blades with a Mezz #3 or greater can connect to ports 5-8, and double density blades.
