c7000 Fibre Channel Pass-Thru module firmware update?
Bill had a firmware update question:
****************
Is the Fibre Channel Pass-Thru module firmware update disruptive? I didn’t see anyplace where this is addressed.

As indicated in the Customer Advisory, you will lose connections on a pass-thru firmware update. If the servers are configured for dual-path to storage, following the procedure below will take advantage of that dual-path to not disrupt the server.
Here is the info:
Pass-Thru Module Firmware Upgrade
Note: In c-Class enclosures configured with multiple 4 Gb Fibre Channel Pass-Thru Modules that provide a dual path to the storage system, upgrade the firmware version for each Fibre Channel Pass-Thru module one module at a time.
The procedure below includes the step-by-step instructions necessary to successfully upgrade the firmware on multiple Pass-Thru Modules. Upgrade the module in bay location 3A prior to initiating a firmware upgrade in bay location 4A. This will allow the dual-path fail over feature to access the storage system during the upgrade process.
However, in c-Class enclosures configured with a single Pass-Thru Module, the storage system cannot be accessed during the firmware upgrade process. Allow time for the normal firmware upgrade process to complete before attempting to access the storage system.
