Can You Disable a Fibre Channel Pass-thru Module port?
I''m trying to remotely disable the fibre channel link to our SAN for one of my blade systems and the Onboard Admin lets you look but seemingly not change. Trying a CLI connection to the FC InterConnect gets me "Serial connection is not supported". Do I have any other option than just unplugging the fibre?
It is a HP 4Gb Fibre Channel Pass-thru Module for c-Class BladeSystem
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Can You Disable a Fibre Channel Pass-thru Module port?
No You can't modify the pass-thru module. There is no "intelligence" inside. You can disable FC ports on server BIOS or from Your SAN switch. Also operating system installed in blade could give you tools to shut down the device/port

Re: Can You Disable a Fibre Channel Pass-thru Module port?
I looked in the BIOS but didn't see any obvious way to disable the Emulex card on the blades. Under PCI devices I didn't see anything that looked like the right ticket. Any clues on what I might be looking for?

I'm not a SAN MAN but you may be able to disable ports from the HBA BIOS.
