Cisco Twinax support on Virtual Connect
Joe had a DAC cable question:
****************
Do we support the 1, 3 and 5m Cisco Twinax cables?
Cisco SFP-H10GB-ACU1M ?
Cisco SFP-H10GB-ACU3M ?
Cisco SFP-H10GB-ACU5M ?
****************
Mark provided some info:

I tried to describe what is supported in the above table. The HP C-Series DAC is the HP Branded Cisco whereas Cisco Twinax are direct from Cisco parts/part#s.
We started supporting the 3m and 5m in VC 3.00 and added the 7m and 10m in VC 3.70, regardless of it being a Cisco or a HP Branded Cisco.
We do not support the 1m cable.

Re: Cisco Twinax support on Virtual Connect
Hi Mark
Can you tell me where some of this info came from, please? Specifically, where do you get the information that the Cisco 3m, 5m and 10m passive cables are supported by HP?
I'm trying to resolve exactly this issue for connections between FlexFabric 10Gb/24 and Nexus 5500. The cables have to be supported by both Cisco and HP, and as far as I can see, the only mutually supported cables are
- HP AP784A (3m passive)
- HP AP785A (5m passive)
- Cisco SFP-H10GB-ACU7M (7m active)
- Cisco SFP-H10GB-ACU10M (10m active)
I get this info from the FlexFabric 10Gb/24 Quick Specs, the VC v3.70 Release Notes and this Cisco data sheet. If there is more specific info than this, I'd be grateful.
And why is there no 1m mutually supported cable???!!! Hasn't anyone ever heard of a TopOfRack switch????
