ILO 5 on G10 Blades - slow read from local ISO when setting up VMware
Hi,
This is my first experience with the ILO5 I've been setting up some Bl460 G10 blades and trying to install VMware ESXi from a local ISO onto the blades via ILO 5.
It is incredibly slow to the point it times out. Has anyone seen this? This is on all interfaces - HTML5, Java and the downloadable HP ILO console.
The file read time is terrible. This is on multiple brand new high specification blades. The image is the HPE custom ESXi.
Has anyone seen this or know how to speed it up? ILO 4 was much quicker in my experience.
Thanks

Re: ILO 5 on G10 Blades - slow read from local ISO when setting up VMware
When you mention local ISO, please explain more, where exactly is the ISO image located & how is the connectivity to the Blades to the ISO image?
Where you using the same kind of connectivity with iLO4 too? Are you following the same procedure?
Usually, the Blades are accessed through iLO5 from a remote system, it could be a Laptop or a Desktop or another server too. Then we mount the ISO image on the Virtual Media/CD-DVD option. Then reboot the server & allow the server to boot from the iLO5 Virtual Media & proceed with the OS installation.
In my experience, there has not been any issue with this procedure.
Request to share more information on the steps you follow to install the OS.
Thank you
I am an HPE employee
