Hello,
I have ILO5 with DL380G10.
I started to experience strange problem with two servers.
If I attach remote iso image to remote console, then I get message image sucessfully attached, but I see no remote media LED activity. I'm enable to boot from that iso. Also sometimes remote console is not accepting any keyboard or mouse input untill I either unmount the iso or reset ilo.
The rest is ok, no errors in log, remote console is ok, I have full duplex.

Re: ILO5 unable to attach .iso image
Hi,
I am sure you have checked weather the same .ISO is bootable on other servers.
Can you check if the iLO FW version is same on these two servers when compared with other servers where the .ISO is working.
Thank You!
I work with HPE but opinions expressed here are mine.

Re: ILO5 unable to attach .iso image
Hello, thanks for your reply.
Yes firmware is the latest 2.72 Sept 4 2022 on all servers, also tested before with older firmwares. The .iso images are also working on the other servers so they are fine.
I use legacy bios boot mode.
I workarounded the problem by booting via UEFI, but RHEL is unable to install legacy boot if you boot UEFI, so I rebooted the server to try something else and I immediatelly saw remote media LED active so I let it boot from .iso and it was successfull. So I'm happy installing RHEL now.
I have also other servers to install so will see how it goes. So far 4 were ok, and 2 with this problem.

SolutionI have another server to install and the same behaviour. Legacy BIOS unable to boot remote .iso, but UEFI is fine with that .iso.
Booted via UEFI then, l let to load it for around 5 minutes, then initiated reboot into legacy boot and selected again to boot from .iso. All ok this time.
