smart array e200i controller not found at reboot
Recently, we updated our ILO 2 firmware to v1.81.
Now, when we reboot a windows machine (BL460C), its raid controller is not found.
When we enter the bios for a few seconds and then exit, the raid controller is found again.
At the hp site I found this exact same problem which should be resolved by installing v1.86 of the smart array e200i controller firmware.:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=be&prodTypeId=3709945&prodSeriesId=1842750&swItem=MTX-259c3eba34474b36830fd3886d&prodNameId=3288156&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=5
So, I updated the firmware of the raid controller to v1.86. We also installed the hpqilo2 driver v1.13.0.0.
Neither of this actions did us any good. We still have the same problem with the raid controller not being found.
Installation of the above was successful. This is the result displayed in the vcagent:

Re: smart array e200i controller not found at reboot
I once had a e200i (ML350G5) controler boot problem because there was a usb harddisk connected. The bios was set to boot from the usb disk and there was no clearcut error message that told me what was going on.

Re: smart array e200i controller not found at reboot
ensure onboard admin is is on version 3.0
pull out and reinsert the oa not just reset command from cli it is not the same
what happens now
if issues persist after the above then proceed with this
clear nv ram
blade clear nvranm
Clearing the system configuration
To clear the system configuration:
1. Power down the server blade
2. Remove the server blade
3. Remove the access panellook at the diagram on it it will show the position of the maintenace switch( it clears Nv ram)
4. Change position 6 of the system maintenance switch to on.
5. Install the access panel
6. Install the server blade in the enclosure and power up the server blade.
7. Wait for the POST message that prompts you to change the switch setting:
Maintenance switch detected in the "On" position.
Power off the server and turn switch to the "Off" position.
8. Repeat steps 1 through 3.
9. Change position 6 of the system maintenance switch to off.
10. Repeat steps 5 through 7.
======================================================
reset ilo
get to ilo web interface go to diagnostics and click reset ilo
to reset the ILO, as in ├в reboot├в the card is go to the ILO settings tab, go to networks and press apply. The ILO will then set the network settings and reboot it. After about 40 seconds the ILO should be ready to use
