Turning off AUTOBOOT
Is there a way to turn off AutoBoot (shell command) from the iLO?? (Itanium Blade)
Put more simply, is there a way to get to the SHELL prompt without going through the Boot Manager Screen??
Basically, I have a blade which currently has Autoboot On and timeout=0. The result is that it immediately tries to boot any method that is available.
I would like to turn AutoBoot Off, before I power on the blade.
Any ideas??
Dave.

Re: Turning off AUTOBOOT

Re: Turning off AUTOBOOT
Hi Dave,
i am not a UX person but did you try the 'setboot' command in HP-UX ?
If you use 'setboot -b off' the EFI boot menu entry at the top will not be executed automatically, the system will wait their until you hit enter.
Is this a workaround for you ?

Re: Turning off AUTOBOOT
Hi Kris,
Thanks for your reply. Im not a "UX" person either (OpenVMS), so I cant make use of this info.
I think what I am going to do is to power down the blade and remove the profile. Then power it up again.
I think that without the profile (and no media in the CD, then there is nothing to boot from. I should then end up at the shell prompt and can turn off autoboot.
Anyway, thanks again for your suggestion.
Dave.
