Virtual Connect FC Modules - Blades NOT-LOGGED-IN

HI,

I have a C7000 Gen3 Enclousre with the following:

2 x HP VC FlexFabric-20/40 F8 Module with firmware 4.85
2 x HP VC 16Gb 24-Port FC Module with firmware 4.20

In the VCM i'm only able to use the 8GB channel from the VC FlexFabric -20/40 module, the 16GB FC port from the VC 16 24-port card are "NOT-LOGGED-IN"
The fiberopticals are 16GB FC and I'm able to see the optical light from my HP 3PAR storage, but when I insert SFP modules to the VC 16GB 24-Port card i'm unable to see the optical light.

When creating new SAN fabric and using the Bay 1 or Bay 2 X1/X2 e.t.c. 8GB they are "populated" and there are link in the FC SFP modules
When using BAY 3 or 4, Port 1-8 they are tagget "NOT-LOGGED-IN"

Serveres are: ProLiant BL460c Gen10

With:
HP FlexFabric 20Gb 2-port 650FLB Adapter
and
HP LPe1605 16Gb FC HBA for BladeSystem c-Class <- Placed in the Mezz1 slot!

Please help - What are I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Virtual Connect FC Modules - Blades NOT-LOGGED-IN

Please refer to the port mapping guide for c7000:-
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=sd00001052en_us&page=Device%20bay%20port%20mapping%20graphical%20view%20for%20c7000%20enclosure.html&docLocale=en_US

Check where are the cards installed and based on that see which Interconnect modules(I/O Bays) they get linked to. Hope this answers your query.

As I can see, this is connected right ?

Re: Virtual Connect FC Modules - Blades NOT-LOGGED-IN

Yes this seems to be correct. Where does it say not logged in. There is the downlink port which is the connectivity from the Mezz card to the Interconnect module and there is the uplink port which is from the interconnect module to the Layer 2 switch. For details analysis logs will be required to check. We suggest you to log a support case with HPE for further investigation.

Re: Virtual Connect FC Modules - Blades NOT-LOGGED-IN

When I logon to the VCM I can see this when I try to create a fabric with uplink:

And all the psycycal ports are blinking slowly orange.

I don't see the issue.

Can the ports on the 16Gb 24-Port FC Module be disabled or something ?

Re: Virtual Connect FC Modules - Blades NOT-LOGGED-IN

In the log:
Domain state DEGRADED : 1+ enclosures & profiles OK, DEGRADED, UNKNOWN, NOT-MAPPED, Previous: Domain state OK, Cause: Port enc0:iobay4:1 is unlinked

What does "unlinked"  means ?

Re: Virtual Connect FC Modules - Blades NOT-LOGGED-IN

Interconnect Bay 4 Port 1 seems to be not connected to any switch as it does not show the device ID. Check if compatible SFP is used and use good known cable. Request you to log a support case again as logs needs to be checked and possibly might require remote access as well to check on the issue.
