I have a situation where only 10-Gb fiber uplinks are available to a bladeserver. I can initial run a temporary copper cable to the OA to configure the enclosure and VC modules. But for long-term, I want to connect the OA management link into one of the external ports of the Flex-10 VC module. Is it possible to configure one of the VC external uplink port to be a downlink port (for connecting the OA)?

Solution
No, you are thinking of Virtual Connect as a traditional switch which it is not.
If you were to connect the OA as you describe you would need to assign a network profile to the OA. Network profiles can only be applied to slots in the chassis, not external uplink ports.
