Hi all
I need to connect the module VC "Virtual Connect FlexFabric 10Gb/24-Port Module" to a network switch and a SAN switch.
Network: 1Gb switch. I think that I need "453154-B21 HP BLc Virtual Connect 1Gb RJ-45 Small Form Factor Pluggable Option Kit". Correct ?
SAN: The switch is a 4Gb. It's possible to use 8Gb SFP on the VC side ?
In the QuickSpec I see 2 option:
AJ716A HP 8Gb Shortwave B-series Fibre Channel 1 Pack SFP+ Transceiver
AJ718A HP StorageWorks 8Gb Short Wave Fibre Channel SFP+ 1 Pack
Which one is appropriate for the "Virtual Connect FlexFabric 10Gb/24-Port Module"
Many thanks
Max

>> Network: 1Gb switch. I think that I need "453154-B21 HP BLc Virtual Connect 1Gb RJ-45 Small Form Factor Pluggable Option Kit". Correct ?
Correct. You can also use 453151-B21 1Gb SX SFP for fibre optics 1Gb connection.
>> SAN: The switch is a 4Gb. It's possible to use 8Gb SFP on the VC side ?
Yes, you can use 8Gb SFP. It will work with 8Gb, 4Gb and 2Gb connections. Both AJ716A and AJ718A work with FlexFabric module. AJ718A is cheaper.

Re: Virtual Connect SFP
Hi,
I am in the process of installing a C Class G3 Chassis.
when I plug a A718A module into the VC X1 port , it resports as incompatible.
the VC is up to 4.20 firmware as is the OA.
Any ideas??
