Hot new c-Class hardware or software ideas?

One of the roles of the HP BladeSystem Solution Builder program is to work with skilled hardware and software companies to validate or develop new products that work with BladeSystem c-Class. To support this we have specifications that are available to license and information on how to integrate with our BladeSystem system management tools. So now I would like to open this discussion thread to gather ideas on what hot new products should we get working with c-Class? New NICs? Flash memory devices? Special processing blades? New analysis software? And if you are a hardware company with a great idea, let us know and we can get you started on the process of getting the specs. A software company? We can get you hooked up with one of our centers to validate your products with c-Class. Just let us know! So lets hear those great ideas! Thanks, Mike

I want to build a 16 core cluster. I'm thinking about use two blades with 8 CPU core on each. The question is how can I connet these two blades together. Can I use some kind of crosslink of IB HCA to connect them without swither? Thanks for reply!! Best regards, James

James, You can connect the two blades together via an IB HCA mezzanine card. However I do believe you need a switch. Do you need the high bandwidth, low latency of IB or could you use Ethernet? With Ethernet you could use the LOM and the switch you need anyway in the enclosure. Regards, Mike
