I'm replacing FC modules, what's the right way of doing this?
We currently have 2x HP VC Flex-10 Enet Modules (455880-B21) and 2x HP 4Gb VC-FC Module (409513-B21). Obviously, I'm stuck at VC 4.01 because of my FC modules (fc fw 1.44). But today, I've received two rfb HP 4Gb VC-FC Modules with part number 409513-B22. And yes, money is an issue.
I have no idea what fw version those two new FC modules are running currently. I'm sure I can't do this procedure live (replacing modules, upgrading to 4.45) and I'm just going to shut down everything before going through with this.
What recommendations do you guys have? Any pitfalls to avoid?

Re: I'm replacing FC modules, what's the right way of doing this?
I would pull one of these modules and replace it by the new module.
Then using vcutil deploy the same firmware 4.01 to this module (force option "health").
After checkpointing do the same for the second module.
If the FC modules are replaced and working, you can proceed updating to the new VC version.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Thank you for your response, I'll let you know how it turns out. I'm going to schedule a maintenance break in few weeks time.
