Homogenous DR & DC
we have a primary DC which has all HP-UX 11i servers and runs ORacle DB and App server. we want to build our DR site with the exact specification; is it necessary that we choose the same equipment at the DR also? what would be the advantages/disadvantages? planning to use dataguard for replication.

Re: Homogenous DR & DC
Sonam,
This is a tough question. It would be good to understand what considerations you have in building the DR site...eg. price? It would also be good to know distance between the DC and any other details you could provide.

Re: Homogenous DR & DC
Hi,
That depends on the business, the load, and the application requirement.
If you are considering the cost,
If you can run the production with reduced load ( if your DC resources are not utilized fully).
you may use minimum configurations for your test servers.
Regards,
Sooraj
