2nd Wifi IP Address for Virtual PC

I have a Compaq/HP 8510W laptop.

When I start Virtual PC I should get a separate IP address for the virtual PC.
I have no problem getting a second address when I use wired connection. However, if I use the wireless card, I do not get a separate address for the virtual PC. I only get one address for the main/host PC.

I have already checked, with another computer, that the problem is not upstream on the Wifi network. I do get a separate IP address for the Virtual PC on my old computer.

How can I resolve this?
Is this a driver issue?
