420 Wireless AP Range

I have a wireless 420 AP.

The manual claims its operating range to be 350m.
I am gtting nowhere near this, I'm bearly getting 50m.

I'm sure all the settings are correct, everything set to 100%.

It's in an office with no major walls blocking the signal.

Could it be the Ap is just faulty?

Re: 420 Wireless AP Range

The 350m is based on line-of-sight. That is, if you're outside on a football field with absolutely nothing blocking the signal between you and the AP and nothing around reflecting it and otherwise causing interference. And even then you'll only get the minimum signal.

Indoors, roughly between 40 to 60m is the maximum attainable, depending on the construction of the building (for instance, having reinforced concrete does not help.) Wireless signals at high frequencies degrade quickly, so what you're seeing is entirely normal.
