Anyone have a fix for CP-2W hanging after going to cp.home ?
Has anyone had any luck getting anybody at HP to acknowledge the problem with the CP-2W and locking it up with cp.home?
It just bit me again today, when I needed to verify my security key to add a new computer to the wireless network.
The problem did not exist in older firmware, at least not in 2.03. Unfortunately I don't have that any more. I only have the 2.09.
I've seen numerous people report the problem here, and elsewhere, and even a reference to it being fixed in the documentation that came with the 2.09 firmware, but it obviously is not.
Here's the meat of the problem in case anyone doesn't know.
CP-2W can work flawlessly for a period of time, can be days, can be weeks, can be months. Unless you try to visit the admin pages at cp.home.
It seems, after the CP-2W has been active for a while (period unknown), just typing in the cp.home in any browser will cause the CP-2W to lock up. No more data goes in or out on the wireless network. [UNknown what happens to the hub since I don't use it.].
Cycling power restores connectivity, and as long as you immediately go into cp.home after power is restored, you can access the admin pages and make any changes you need to.
This problem did NOT occur in the older firmware (1.x) that came with the box. Nor did it happen in the 2.0x (2.03 I think) firmware. Unfortunately while trying to troubleshoot a problem (that turned out to be a cable line problem with Time Warner), it was suggested updating to 2.09 firmware. That's when all the problems started.
So, anyone ever find a fix for this? Or know of a fix? Short of scrapping this and buying somebody else's stuff that is.
