I have search the hp/compaq, called technical support and searched the internet and i am unable to find out what kind of network adapter comes with the model mentioned in the subject. I could use the recovery cds to find out, but that would mean wiping my computer. If anyone knows or could point me to a driver, i would be grateful.

Solution
Hi Shane,
The kind of Network adapter on your computer is:
Networking Interface Card (NIC) Type
Integrated 10/100Base-T Ethernet - Intel
This Network card is an integrated card on your motherboard of your computer. Hence you need to install the chipset drivers or motherboard/mainboard drivers to reinstall drivers for this device.
However, visit the web link below. In the web link check if your chipset or motherboard is listed under Modem chipset drivers. If so, deownload and install them. Hope this may help you.

If this did not help, tell us the motherboard number and chipset number for your computer.
Visit the web link below to view specifications for your computer.
