HP DV6000 Notebook router

I just recently purchased a HP Dv6000 notebook and im trying to get the wireless hooked up on it. I was just curious to know from your guys experience which wireless router has worked best for this laptop? My main desktop is located on our 2nd floor connected to a cable modem. And my new laptop is going to be on the 1st floor. So i need a good router for this. Any recommendations? Thank you
