ICS: INTERNET CONNECTION SHARING PROBLEMS
Here's the thing, I got a LAN set up; 1 NIC in each of my 3 computers. The LAN works fine, but my host computer, running Windows ME and connecting to the internet via dialup, will not connect to the internet after I install Internet Connection Sharing. I also receive the repeated message "explorer has caused an error in ". I'm not sure if that will help you see the picture, but anyway, please give me a link to the most thorough ICS page, or a free Internet connection sharing program, or tell me about what went wrong.
Thank You
Thank You

Re: ICS: INTERNET CONNECTION SHARING PROBLEMS
Willie,
Reinstall WinME and you should be OK!, better yet, change that OS to Win98SE or Win2K - both of which, in my experience, are much more stable

Re: ICS: INTERNET CONNECTION SHARING PROBLEMS
Apart from updating to 2k or even 98, which is indeed the best to do, you can also make sure to have your Me updated with latest fixes, and Me DLLs.
Then if you need a soft for ICS, there are :
wingate (most known, suppose to pay for it) :
http://download.com.com/3000-2085-10006621.html
jana, free, less known :
http://www.janaserver.de/start.php?lang=en
Both will do what you need.

You can lean only on what resists you...
