HP555O and built in Wireless

We are wanting to upgrade from the HP3950 to the HP5550 but are told there is a problem with the wireless capabilities not being robust enough. We are transmitting dictation wave files to a server and the beta testing has shown that there is a problem with the access points. They drop off after 15 seconds and do not reconnect. They also claim if they move out of one access area it does not try to reconnect at the next access point. It is almost like it tries to do a manualy find of the IP address. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?
