IE Icon Vanished from desktop

I know it is a big deal, but really, What's with the random Vanishing???

To me, it looks like it only does it in W2K any time I did the installation of it.

W2K SP3

Sorry, had to save pic in 256 colors to reduce the size of it

To me it looks like you lost half of your display. If that is the case and not just a fluke of the posting process you need a new video driver.

Might as well bite the bullet and upgrade to SP4. windowsupdate.microsoft.com They might give you a new driver while they are at it.

Does the Internet Explorer Shortcut vanish from the Desktop folder when you look at in with Windows Explorer? The Desktop folder is at the top of the folders window on the left.

Re: IE Icon Vanished from desktop

I expect you may have accidentally sent to to the recycle bin. When you try that it says something about not being able to store it in the recycle bin but would you like to hide it then it goes bye bye.

To get it back all you have to do is go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Internet Options/Advanced and scroll down until you find "Show Internet Explorer on the Desktop."
It will be unchecked so just check it and say Apply then OK and it should reappear on the Desktop.
