Intel pro/100 ve network connection on pavilion dv6000
I have tried every possible way to configure Intel pro/100 ve network connection (NIC) on pavilion dv6000 running redhat linux 4 .The device shows as unknown status in /etc/sysconfig/hwconf.However, i am able to assign ip and also it pings to itself but no other network or computer.I could not find driver anywhere. Can somebody help plz .

in bottom half of page.
Pinging yourself proves nothing. It doesn't even send a packet out on the wire because it knows it doesn't need to.
