internet connection eventually dies when using my wireless connection

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have had my pavillion notebook for about a year now. Ever since I have gone "wireless" I have had a really annoying issue with my internet connection.

I am able to surf when I first boot up, however if I leave my system on for a long time, say 2 hours, my internet connection simply dies.

I am still connected to my router cause I can ping it - just "outside" connections stop working.

I have tried two different wireless cards (cisco aironet & belkin) - same problem on both. So i'm confident its not the card ... my roommate uses the same router and he doesn't have the problem - so i am pretty sure its not the router. The only thing that could be causing this is maybe a windows setting on my system ..

BTW, i have an zt-1260.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help

If you have power-saving enabled on the network card, it may be affecting your connection. Are you able to repair the connection with ipconfig /renew (NT/W2K/WXP) or winipcfg/ renew (W9x/ME)? If not you probably don't have a default DNS server configured in your connection and you're losing it as the cache expires.
