nc8000 - Intel Proset - turning Wireless on/off via SOFTWARE

Hi,
I recently got the 2200BG adapter for my nc8000 notebook, and installed the latest Intel Proset Wireless software and drivers (9.0.3.9)

I can enable the wireless via the button on my notebook, but would like to do it via software.

Have checked the Intel website for the Proset software and there is an option in the sofware to turn wireless on/off.

However, on my nc8000 the sofware option is missing.

Any ideas how I can enable this option?

Have tried both the original Intel drivers and HP's SP31571.

Thanks.

Re: nc8000 - Intel Proset - turning Wireless on/off via SOFTWARE

hi,

from this manual:

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/pro2915abg/userguide90/assist.htm#assistant

there should be a Wireless On/Off button.

also, please confirm if u got your download from here:

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-010623.htm

regards.

Re: nc8000 - Intel Proset - turning Wireless on/off via SOFTWARE

Hi Joseph,
Thanks for the reply.

Exactly my point - the guide shows the Wireless ON/OFF option but it is missing from both the Intel and HP versions of the Proset Wireless software (see attachment) on my notebook.

Just checked the Intel driver site again and there appears to be a new version (10.1.0.2).

Will give that a try and report back.

hi,

do keep me posted if the new software version succeeds. if not, try re-installing the software version to ascertain the problem.

Ok it works with the latest Proset software (v10) from Intel's site.

But my WPA (TKIP/AES) is entirely broken (doesnt work). But that's a story for another day.
