New network adapter 'NET' detected
also my system doesnt detect my broadcom wireless adapter everytime i start my notebook. it only appears once in a blue moon.
i had my motherboard replaced and it worked fine till a few days back and again my wireless adapter was gone.

Windows XP or Vista? Assuming XP, get the latest Broadcom driver here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3216222тМй=en
Boot to safe mode and remove all instances of the Network adapter(s) from device manager, reboot normally.
I would cancel XP's attempt at installing the driver upon rebooting and install the one you downloaded.
Why was the system board replaced in the first place? Sometimes, history can be relevant.

i had got the motherboard replaced due to a system startup failure and no wlan adapter detection.
it took 2 weeks. wlan adapter reappeared and again dissapeared aftr a week.

Hey, it's great that you are doing this. I hope everybody will pitch in and get HP to admit this problem. Up to now their indifference to this problem is appalling.
