Problem With Debug

I have logging level debug and it shows when i do a show logging, but i cant see any debug messages in my syslog server at all. Just clients being authentificated, ie the normal logging. Do i have to do anything more to get debug logging to work? I have also tested logging to console with logging console but i get none logging to the console

Re: Problem With Debug

If the syslog server is HP-UX/Linux then run syslogd manually with -d to see what syslog is up to, There is also a -r option which has to be specified on the syslogd server to allow network messages to be recieved

Re: Problem With Debug

the syslogserver is windowsbased. The thing is that i get messages from the ap(wl420) but nothing that seems like debug messages. Just the normal ones(Informational etc). Is it suppose to be this quiet in debug mode? I think it should be the opposite.

Re: Problem With Debug

Are you also seeing messages proceeded by debug?

When I've enabled debug, the only additional information I've seen is about 802.1x authentications:

2005-09-06 13:01:33 Local0.Debug 10.3.0.9 Sep 06 12:44:22 10.3.0.9 auth: Debug: 802.1x Authentication Failed: 00-12-f0-68-25-89
2005-09-06 13:02:14 Local0.Debug 10.3.0.1 Sep 06 13:05:48 10.3.0.1 auth: Debug: 802.1x Authentication Succeeded: 00-05-4e-43-f4-3a
2005-09-06 13:02:14 Local0.Debug 10.3.0.1 Sep 06 13:05:48 10.3.0.1 auth: Debug: 802.1x Authentication Succeeded: 00-05-4e-43-f6-ee

I don't think you'll see much more than this.

Re: Problem With Debug

Ok, Thanks for your help. I thought there would be more debug information than this.
