Procurve 420 AP- MAC addr last character changes when listing detected APs
Anyone encountered this?
We have just installed about 15 HP Procurve 420s and they work fine.
The problem or "feature" occurs when you use NET Stumbler or the HP420s own AP detect feature.
The MAC addresses listed for the detected HP420 access points all have the last character incremented by 1. So, an AP with an address of 00:00:00:00:00:01 would show up as 00:00:00:00:00:02 in the list.
We also have about 80 Proxim APs in another building. If I throw in an HP420 in the mix and get it to detect APs, the detected APs MACs are correct. Net Stumbler also detects the Proxims with the correct MAC address.
Have the latest 2.2.1 firmware
Any ideas?

Re: Procurve 420 AP- MAC addr last character changes when listing detected APs
I think this is expected. The wired ethernet address is the mac-address you're expecting, but you're actually seeing the mac-address the wireless interface. From memory if you physically check the AP you should see both mac-addresses.
