UDP 427 port block
Hi,
Can anyone help?
I have a HP officejet 4500 Wireless G510n-z and for some reason I get a HP message
"Printer rediscovery problems detected. Your PC may not be able to track online status changes of your printer.
If you are using firewall software, verify UDP port 427 is unblocked from your printer at 192.168.0.8 to your PC.
To fix the issue(s) try to power your printer off and on."
I'm am using Bitdefender Total Security 2013, I've searched the web and still none the wiser.
Help anyone

Re: UDP 427 port block
I guess you get on the Bitdefender console and make a rule to Allow inbound from 192.128.0.8 on YDP 427

Re: UDP 427 port block
16 pounds an hour is a bargain compared with the rates I charge....
So, you've added a rule to your firewall to allow the connection from the printer, and it doesn't work, right?
Check your rules are in the correct order (ie, your new allow rule needs to be higher than any relevant deny rule).
Check your firewall log, or your logs in eventviewer. What is it logging when the connection fails?
