Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?? I am on a Dell with XP trying to download a file from the HP download site for my Compaq Armada and I find the S/W but clicking on the download button doesn't work just get page not available?? Also if I left click on the "download" button the "open link" section is greyed out on the windows pull down. I contacted HP and they replied they could tell me for 34.95 an hour...can anyone help? I just need the WinDvd and possibly ATI-Rage driver for this notebook...
Here is the link...( http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/Notebooks/us/download/9579.html )
Thanks!
Mike

Solution
Works fine for me. Try going into IE's Tools/Internet Options/Security and lowering the level to Low. It will complain but tell it you want to do it. (Security can turn off File DOwnload and also scripting. Both of which you need for a download).
You may also need to set Privacy to Low to so that it accepts all cookies.
Finally try Advanced and tell it to Use Passive FTP.
Put it back when you are done.
You can also go directly to the site:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp16001-16500/
or
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp16001-16500/sp16084.exe
One of them should work tho you may need to turn on Enable Folder view for FTP in Advanced.

Re: Unable download ( FTP ) from HP site
Thanks Ron! By going into the network properties on the dsl interface and disabling the XP provided firewall I was able to download....strange I had already allowed everything on this interface...but who knows it works now. Now I just have one website I can't seem to get to ...thanks again,
Mike
