wifi

Is it possible to get a PCMCIA card for the nx6125 laptop to pick up the wifi connection better??

Re: wifi

There are several makers of PCMCIA Wi-Fi cards (D-Link, Netgear, Linksys, etc) available at local electronics stores (Best Buy, CompUSA, Circuit City, Radio Shack, etc). Any should work just fine.
Does not the nx6125 have 802.11 Wi-Fi built in? The spec for 802.11 is not the strongest signal; don't expect *any* Wi-Fi card to go far, or through heavy walls, floors, etc.
Have you tried slowly turning the notebook while watching the signal strength?

Note: While I am an HPE Employee, all of my comments (whether noted or not), are my own and are not any official representation of the company

Re: wifi

Yes, I have upgraded a laptops board by just adding a new one (B to G). Works great !
Also the newer cards have better range and software to help you zero in on your signal.

Re: wifi

Are you sure that a PCMCIA card is what you need? Why do you think that a PCMCIA adapter will help? What problems are you having with the internal wireless adapter?

It may be that your problem is not to do with the internal adpater; it may be software (drivers), or even a configuration problem.

On the other hand, if you really do have problems with the internal adapter, I (and others) would be interested to hear about those problems.

Re: wifi

Dave, like I mentioned, just by adding a new version G card will improve any laptop. Specs have gotten tighter and the hardware on the newer cards are getting better. Even G cards have been doubled in speed like with 2XR technology...

The price is right on a addon card too...
